Yarra Punt
&Darebin B U G Ride
We rode out west to Point Cook on Sunday to visit
friends. This involved the usual ride to Port Melbourne
and then on to take the punt across the Yarra under
the West Gate Bridge. We then followed the coastal path through Williamstown, Seaholme
and Aircraft.
The punt was running a shuttle service across the river.
The trip took about 5 minutes.
The punt heads back under the West Gate Bridge.
More riders waiting to go over to the Melbourne side.
The trailer had some interesting passengers.
The K9 carrier.
Speaking of canines, at our friend's place this one really
wanted to come in, but was well trained.
Are you SURE I can't come in???!!!!.
After a beaut mid afternoon BBQ lunch with our friends
we rode back to Aircraft and caught a train to town.
On the train we met members of the Bayside Bicycle Touring Club
on their way home to Mordialloc from their Sunday ride.
We then joined the Darebin Bicycle Users Group at
Flinders St Station for their 6:00 p.m. ride to St Kilda Pier.
Here we are heading along St Kilda Road.
St Kilda Road has about10 lanes for cars, plus tram tracks,
and bicycle lanes all beautifully lined with trees.
We have regrouped to take a tiki tour through Albert Park.
Swan stop, Albert Park Lake.
Tucker time at the pavilion at St Kilda Pier.
