Waitangi Day ride to
Waitangi Falls

The falls are not very big, but the locals have fun there.
None of us was interested in swimming -
we were happy
enough just to have our lunch
and contemplate the scenery.
And our bikes were
happy to have a rest and get ready
for the head wind on the return journey.
We stopped at the
Anglican Church near Mauku
so John G could show us the rifle slots in the walls -
a remnant from the 19th century wars.
